Sewing is a homemaking skill that goes back generations. My mother and grandmother made clothes and lots of other things from scratch for their families.
This skill did not get passed on to me as a child. Sure, I know how to sew on a button or a rip in fabric. But that is where my knowledge stops.
In fact, my teenage son can run a sewing machine better than I can because he learned how to in school.
But I still think sewing is a skill that every homemaker and homesteader should try to cultivate. You never know when it might come in handy, and it feels good to make something from scratch instead of buying it at the store!
So today, I wanted to share with you 15 simple, beginner sewing projects that will get you excited about sewing.
