When getting started with homesteading, all of the skills and lessons you need to learn seem so overwhelming. I get it. I’ve been there. You search all over the web to find answers to your questions. Sometimes, you don’t even know where to start. Which skill is most important?
Wouldn’t it be nice if you homesteading education was organized in such a way that it would be easy to learn a skill without being overwhelmed at all of the information?
I have found a place online where you can learn homesteading skills in an easy to follow format: Rootsy.
Rootsy is an online membership site that has a different homesteading topic each month.
I have been a member since January 2017, and so far we have learned about:
Organization (meal planning, homestead management, goal visualization, etc.)
Composting (including vermicompost)
Backyard Chickens (how to take care of them, cheap ways to feed them, etc.)
Every month I look forward to finding out what the new topic will be and seeing all of the information available to learn.
So what kind of information do you get?
Monthly webinar on the month’s topic
Coupon code for something related to the month’s topic
There is no telling what they will give us next month! It is so exciting!
There is also a community behind Rootsy that is fun and engaging. It started with a forum to discuss homesteading topics and learn from each other.
This month they started a Private Facebook group as well to help people connect online. I prefer the Facebook group because it is something I use every day. You can pop in there quickly and see what is going on. You can ask and answer questions from like minded people. It is also more positive than some free Homesteading Facebook Groups I am a part of.
So how will Rootsy help you in your homesteading journey? Here is a recap of what you will get every month:
