I have been dreaming of spring and starting on my garden during this long, cold winter. I have purchased seed and I have a long list of veggies I want to plant.
Now I need to finalize my garden design to accomplish these homesteading goals:
Increase the Quantity of Vegetables We Grow
Increase the Quality of the Vegetables We Grow
Have a Better Layout For the Raised Beds
Have More Room for the Rows Planted Directly in Ground
Increase the Amount of Healthy Food I Can Feed My Family This Summer
Increase the Amount of Healthy Food I Can Preserve for My Family This Winter
Raise more animals for meat, eggs and honey
Here is My Final Garden Layout for this Year:
This Layout Includes:
A Chicken Coop
A Rabbit Hutch
A Three Tier Compost System
A Large Number of Raised Beds
A Large Pumpkin Patch
In Ground Rows for Corn, Sunflowers, and Popcorn
A Salsa Garden in the Middle
A Path from the House to the Chicken Coop and around the Garden
A Large Woodpile
A Fruit Orchard
Several Cottonwood and Maple Trees For Shade
Many Fruit Bushes for Blackberries and Raspberries
Many of these systems are already in place, but they are being renovated or expanded. The garden and it’s path will be the biggest change in the garden this year. The greenhouse may not be in place until 2018.

I wish spring would get here so I could get started! It will be a lot of work, but I plan on implementing these plans as soon as possible so we can start reaping the rewards!
Do you have your garden and its contents planned out for this spring? I would love to hear your suggestions or tips. Please leave them in the comments below!
