Last year, someone asked me if it was cheaper to grow your own food and produce your own eggs and meat. This question puzzled me for a little while. I am almost positive that is cheaper to grow food in the garden than to buy it at the store. But eggs and meat-I wasn’t sure. I want to tell myself that it is, but I can’t prove it. That question has been bothering me all winter. How do I know how much things cost unless I actually do the math and figure it out? How do I consistently keep track of cost and production amounts?
I have found the solution to the problem and it was right under my nose! Homestead Management Printables 2017 by Reformation Acres.
Don’t you love when someone has taken the time to put things together in a logical, easy to follow way so that you don’t have to? Wouldn’t it be worth your hard earned money to buy if it saved you time and money in the long run?
That is exactly why I am talking about the Homestead Management Printables 2017 with you today!
Here is what is included in the printable:
Helps track how much products and produce I am producing on the homestead each year.
Vegetable Garden Yields
I plan on using this to weigh and measure how much my garden actually produced this year.
Seed Starting Calculator (Excel document)
I used this to decide when to start seeds. It will also help me to know when to start seeds for my fall garden.
Plant Growing Summary
This will help me know which seeds grew and produced the best.
This will help me keep track of what seeds I already have for next year.
Vegetable Garden Planner Graph Paper
I used this to draw my homestead plan for 2017
Homestead & Garden Calendar with Notes
Very useful to keep track of planting and other tasks on the homestead.
Helps to write down big tasks for the year so you don’t forget them.
This Month at a Glance
Another scheduling tool.
Outdoor To-Do List
I might need a few copies of this one!
Expense Records for the Garden, Bees, Goats, Sheep, Pigs, Beef, Dairy, Layers, Broilers, Rabbits
I only print out the ones I need for my animals. I am hoping that these pages will help me know exactly how much I am spending on feed and care for animals compared to what I receive in return.
If you are incubating any eggs this year this would be helpful.
Monthly Egg Tally Charts with a Year End Chart
Very helpful to keep track of how much the chickens are producing.
Year End Cost Analysis
I am really excited about this one! I have never actually put pin to paper and calculated how much homesteading is costing/saving us each year.
Year End Dairy Production Records
Great to keep track for the yearly dairy production.
So helpful to keep things organized in the pantry.
I am hoping to fill the freezer with produce and meat this summer. This will help keep it organized.
Food Preservation Worksheet
I hope this keeps me more organized with my canning.
2017 Homestead & Garden Calendar (for notes & weather observations)
2017 Home Dairy Calendar (for notes & recording production)
Good for keeping records of when and how much you butcher.
Animal Medical Records
Useful for keeping medical records on your animals.
More organizing help.
Cut Flower Planner
Keeping records of your flower production.
Indoor Seed Starting Records
I really need this one to keep organized before the garden really starts.
New Expense Sheets for Ducks, Turkeys, and Cut Flowers
These are new this year to add to the other expense sheets.
My main reason for starting the blog this year is to keep me accountable in my homesteading journey. Before this year, I have been raising animals, growing a garden and preserving food in a hit or miss sort of fashion.
This year I am going to be intentional about tracking my expenses and my production. We are going to have the rabbits on a breeding schedule and track how many eggs the chickens are producing. I am going to weigh produce as it comes in from the garden and orchard. Tracking my canning and what I put in the freezer will be a priority. At the end of the year I hope to be able to prove that it was all worth it and that it saved me money. This resource is going to help me do that more efficiently.
The 2017 Homestead Management Printables from www.reformationacres.com is going to be vital to keeping track of my homestead this year. You can buy the printables from Quinn’s Etsy shop for $12.50 or as part of the Conquer Your Clutter Super Bundle ($47 for a huge collection of organizing, meal planning and cleaning resources).
