Our family loves game night. If you check out my Instagram feed, you will see several game pictures. Now that my kids are getting older, it is fun to play more complicated games with them. They are learning strategy and good sportsmanship.
Here are some of our favorite family games:
We love Settlers of Catan! It seems really complicated at first, but after you get it it is so fun!
This is such a great game and it will help the family learn geography as well.
This is a great card game that you move up and down the ranks from poverty to prosperity throughout the game.
This classic game is still a great choice. You can even make it move faster by passing out the properties at the beginning and then start from there.
Phase 10 is a long game, so you need to have several hours to play all the way through.
Dominoes Mexican Train is a great game for the family.
My kids love this one because of the funny pictures. It really makes you think and can help vocabulary.
This game is an updated tic tac toe game where the board moves after each turn. It is very good for learning strategy.
This is another excellent card game for the family.
My kids love this tile game. It is a tradition in my husband’s family to play Rummikub with his grandmother.
Game night is a great way to enjoy family time with your kids. It is a great bonding time that my kids ask for each week. They love that time together. Of course, they are really competitive, so that may be part of it. But anything you can do to keep in touch and involved with your kids, the better. Now that my kids are older, they are beating us at some of these games. That makes it even more fun and challenging for us too.
